The soundtrack to this movie by Clint Mansell  has been one of my favorite film score since it came out, after listening to it so many times, I started sampling parts of it and make short tracks for fun, when put all together it added up to the 46 minutes mix linked above.

２０００年公開の米映画『Requiem for a dream』サウンドトラックのリミックス。

原作は米国で熱狂的なファンを持つヒューバート・セルビー・ジュニアの邦訳『夢へのレクイエム』。

未亡人のサラとヘロイン中毒の一人息子のハリーが薬物に翻弄される物語です。

堕落した生活から抜け出そうとするサラ、大金を手に入れようとするハリー。

ともに今ある現実から、なんとか抜け出そうとするのだが…

ただの薬物映画ではありません。

そして。

公開から約１０年経った今回のリミックス。

今聴いてもオリジナルの音源は新鮮であり、けして色褪せていませせんが、

オリジナルのイメージを飛躍させ、迫力を増幅させたサウンドは鬼気迫るものがあります。

大半のトラックが３分台以下で、目紛しく変化するシーンに否応無く聴き手のテンションは

呼応し、引き込まれていくでしょう。

普段、あまりサウンドトラックを聴かない人にも絶対に薦めたいリミックス作品です！！

If you never heard of that movie before here is some infos I lifted from Wikipedia :

Requiem for a Dream is a cult 2000 drama film directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto, Marlon Wayans and Jennifer Connelly. The film is based on Hubert Selby, Jr.‘s novel of the same name, with whom Aronofsky wrote the screenplay.

Requiem for a Dream exposes four paralleled individuals and their menacing addiction to heroin, cocaine, and diet pills (speed). Taking place in Brooklyn amidst the waning Coney Island, the drugs are very easily obtained and keep each main character in its cycle of dependence. The protagonist Harry Goldfarb is your typical heroin junky with an ambitious plan of “Getting off hard knocks,” with help from his cocaine crazed girlfriend Marion and his long time friend Tyrone. Meanwhile his widowed mother is obsessed with the glamor of television and eventually finds her way to a dietitian who pushes her into the cycle of drug induced enslavement.
